Ban certain technologies

More to the point, the AI doesn't play as well when the tech cost goes up. My experience is that the Standard AI sometimes gets confused when tech gets really expensive and just gives up after building a couple of cities; SETI (Frank's AI and probably C-evo's strongest AI) doesn't build a navy, which really handicaps it on an earthlike (lots of water) planet with slow tech.

More useful is my hack which fixes C-evo 1.1.1's bug on Netbook (1024x600) screens. Steffen: I hope you saw my email describing this and fix C-evo on Netbook screens for the next C-evo release.
As for changing the tech tree, the reason this isn't possible is because the AIs can't handle it. See this posting for my notes on this subject:
