I don't get the problem...
trading tech does not mean you get it for free.
just research efford is halved.
you can trade tech, too.
C-Evo is a completely different game from Civ2.
there are so much things different in gameplay.
and most of all, the AI is capable of winning, without cheating.
this was not possible in original CIV, they were cheating there.
just take a step back and look at c-evo as a completely different game.
it's not just a clone, clones are not worth playing.
imho, c-evo is the only free civstyle game worth playing.
