Pre version 1 there was a pretty easy way for a human player to beat a bunch of other nations on moderate level. He just builds a few more cities and then focus on building infrastructure and research until he gets airplanes, then he conquers the world. Now this strategy is no longer viable because universities and research labs have become less effective and tech trading has become strategically very important since getting an advance from another nation no longer increases the n by 1, only researching it does.
So now I see two viable strategies. One is to just wait until all or most of the non-future techs have been discovered to initiate aggressive action, when tech trading is longer a strategic factor. The other one is to build the Temple of Zeus and go on a campaign of world conquest.
Is there a third way?
