C-evo forum not active?

: Btw. Is C-Evo Freeware (as stated in Info section) or Open Source (Source is available in files section)? What licence does the source use? If its open source, sites like Free Gamer (http://freegamer.blogspot.com/) could promote the game as well.

: Also, are Delphi programs portable and they are, does C-Evo use any windows specific libraries/code etc.? Maybe someone could port it to other Operating systems...

From FAQ B7

B7. Linux

Q/S: Delphi 6/Kylix is available for Linux. The class library CLX that it comes with is compatible with both Windows and Linux, so you can easily compile a Delphi program for both platforms with little changes only. How about changing to CLX to make this game available for Linux?

A: This is not as little effort as it might seem. The code is very involved with the VCL and the Windows environment. Of course, it would be possible to switch to the CLX, but there are tasks of much higher priority, at least for now. (Besides, the CLX components are only contained in the expensive Professional Edition of D6.) As far as I know, you can play the game under Linux using WINE, but in this environment the game is probably a little slow.
